As you may know Virtually University sets up videoconferences between schools and universities around the country which are designed to inform and inspire young people's choices of Higher Education.
We are currently planning an English Language/English Literature session with The University of Liverpool for Year 12 students and they are very keen to work with inner city schools. These schools can be anywhere in the UK and the session, which will combine skills and subject development, will be devised based on conversations with interested schools.
On 7th February at 14.00, Victoria Wright, a PhD student at The University of Sheffield, will be presenting a lecture discussing the importance of biodiversity and its benefits to people: 'Anthropocentric Reasons for Conservation'.
*** This session is now full ***
One of VU's themes this term is the brain and the nervous system and so we are delighted to offer our first session with University College London on Neuroscience. This will take place on 5th December at 11.30 am and will seek to promote the idea that the sciences are accessible to people of all backgrounds.
