In the deepest ocean, in the darkness and under huge pressure, you might think life is scarce. But you'd be wrong. The deep sea is one of the least explored areas on the planet, yet many strange and wonderful creatures live in this extreme environment.
We are delighted to have the British Museum joining the Janet Content Providers in the new year. Their first session will be on Thursday 9th January 2014. It is entitled Treasure challenge video conference. There are two sessions, from 10:30-12pm and from 12:30 to 2pm. Advanced bookings are now being taken for this exciting event, which is designed for Key Stage 2 students. The students work through the real challenges faced by archeologists, scientists and museum staff.
These are details of the 5 videoconferences we are running after Easter, including our first from Newcastle University.
As always these sessions are free to schools and I hope that you will have students you feel will benefit and who would like to take part. They will be very welcome.
Please let me know which session/s are of interest and I will reserve your place.
Best wishes, Rob
Belvidere School in Shropshire took part recently in a trial VC with Fizzics Education which is a content provider organisation based in Australia.
Fizzics Education's UK sessions are tailored to suit the UK curriculum and cover a wide range of subjects including chemistry, astronomy, human body, dinosaurs, Lego robotics, renewable energy, liquid nitrogen, electricity and magnetism, light, sound, flight and weather.
Below are 3 forthcoming VU lectures which have one or two spaces left. These are advertised for Years 12 & 13 but, if you feel these would be suitable for your Gifted & Talented Key Stage 4 students, they will also be very welcome.
Each session will encourage students to discuss their ideas with eminent people in their respective fields and give the opportunity for students to consider and ask questions about university study.
Please let me know which session/s are of interest and I will reserve your place. There is no charge to schools for these videoconferences.
