Richard Price is the Learning Technologies Advisor at Health Education England, and gives an update on the latest developments, including the imminent arrival of the long awaited Learning Hub, from the TEL project.
The presentation is highly pictorial - see https://www.hee.nhs.uk/our-work/research-learning-innovation/technology-... for a brief summary to go alongside this.
Elizabeth described systems created and supported at her unit that support clinical research or clinical education. These are often also used extensively elsewhere in the UK, especially CRFManager. The NHS-HE challenges are described and the help that would be useful from the NHS-HE Forum.
Martin presented on the Weston General Hospital pilot at the November 2013 NHS-HE Forum. This time he was able to say how successful the pilot has been (no issues reported) and that it was now to become a standard supported service. Looking to use this model in 2 other Trusts.
Martin describes an innovative approach for extending the footprint of eduroam to an NHS Trust without a direct NHS Trust to University network link. Instead the University handle the authentication on behalf of the Trust and this can be done through the N3 Janet Gateway. The Trust provides the internet access for authenticated users.
