Jeremy Power
Lecturer in Media Practice
Jeremy Power's professional home for more than 20 years was BBC TV Centre in London. He joined the BBC straight from school, and trained in studio camera operating, radio production, lighting design and VT operations. He specialised in TV post production, quickly becoming a consultant and lead editor.
As a post production editor Jeremy has worked on some of the highest profile programmes on British television, from Top of the Pops to Blue Peter, Match of the Day to One Man and His Dog.
As a lead editor Jeremy was responsible for the post production of television trailers across all the BBC TV and Virgin Media TV channels. The consultant editor role saw him advise BBC production departments on the use of post production and editing technologies. During this time Jeremy managed to combine his editing with training other BBC staff in the use of editing applications.
Jeremy teaches Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro and EditShare Lightworks, and TV Studio operations to BA and MA students.
Jeremy is an Avid Certified Instructor and a certified PRINCE2 practitioner.
