Current NHS networks are N3 for England and Scotland (separate contracts), Public Sector Broadband Aggregation (PSBA) network in Wales and the HSC network in Northern Ireland.

Bob's presentation on Janet's position with the PSN with particular reference to connections and opportunities with "health" and the PSN for Health (PSNH). This was delivered after a presentation and discussion which Mark Reynolds, Programme Director for PSNH and NHSMail2, from the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC).

As the N3 contract is coming to an end, Ron MacDonald describes how the re-procurement is the vanguard project for the Scotland Wide Area Network (SWAN) programme, as part of the Public services Network (PSN) development and in response to the McClelland Review of Scottish Public Sector ICT. Since the Forum the OJEU for this has been issued. Ron also gives an update of the NHS Scotland videoconferencing project. Whilst mostly focused on NHS use the arrangement does use the N3 Janet Gateway to videoconference with academic partners.

Adrian put the N3 Janet Gateway Phase II Project in to the context of the work on the replacent of N3, the development of the Public Services Network, and the need for health to work with other organisations.
