Video Tests Summary section
1. Fine Detail on Presentation Images
Fine detail on the presentation input appeared slightly distorted; this was most evident on PC desktop text. With the PC laptop output resolution set to 720p a direct connection from the PC laptop HDMI output to the monitor produced acceptable results, with the XT5000 720 codec connected between the PC laptop and the Monitor the PC image viewed locally appeared distorted. The PC image also appeared distorted at the remote codec.
Avaya:
The XT5000 720 includes a feature in its Quick Setup menu to allow the image displayed to be re-sized as highlighted and used for this report. The benefit of this feature is that it ensures that the whole image can be seen on screen in the case when a consumer TV display is used due to over scan. However this means that the displayed image can be modified to custom resolution that is not the same aspect ratio as the source image. An alternative option to using this re-size feature is to select the ‘Fit to screen’ option that is now available with most consumer TVs or to use the DVI input (with separate audio connection) if a ‘fit to screen’ option doesn’t exist.
2. Interoperability section
In direct connections to a Cisco C90 with S/W TC7.0.2 images were not received by the XT5000 720 on either the main or presentation channels. In order to receive images from the C90 H.264 High Profile (HiP) required to be disabled via the Administrator Settings - Video Preferences on the XT5000 720. Following the application of a software patch to the Avaya S/W 8.03 the XT5000 720 interoperated successfully with the Cisco C90 running S/W TC7.0.2 with H.264 High Profile enabled.

The fix produced for this issue will now go through more in depth testing and will be included as part of the next release after version 8.3. Any customer who experiences this issue in the meantime should contact their supplier’s support team for assistance.
