Janet and Heriot Watt have been working in close collaboration to connect their Malaysian campus, just outside Kuala Lumpar, ready for their first intake of students in September 2014. This has been sucessfully achieved in the last few weeks utilising Telecom Malaysia, who Janet have also established good working and contractual relationships with for the benefit of the sector.

Janet recently comissioned the Observatory for Borderless Higher Education (OBHE) to carry out a survey to establish HEIs current and future technological requirements to support their TNE activities. The Survey, An early-warning system for TNE: Understanding the future global network connectivity and service needs of UK Higher Education, was open through July 2014 and was sent to both International Director and IT Director leads in each UK HEI.
