This technical course is aimed at anyone considering implementing IPv6 on their campus who wishes to understand some of the theory and implications. The course assumes a basic knowledge of networking theory such as is covered on the Janet Training's Basic Networking course.
Join us on the 11 and 12 June for our Implementing a Shibboleth 2 Identity and Service Provider training course at the Barbican in London
This technical course is aimed at anyone responsible for implementing a Shibboleth 2 identity provider and/or service provider who has system administration skills with either Windows Server 2003 or Red Hat Linux.
This one hour research support strategy briefing will cover the following areas:
* Understanding network-requirements within major research disciplines, including patterns of use
* Janet services and infrastructures supporting research
* Support for network research and testbeds and associated Janet services and infrastructures
* Janet's role in the e-Infrastructure environment
* Supporting knowledge and experience regarding high-throughput data-transfer over networks.
This course will benefit staff (and their managers) whose jobs require them to have privileged access to shared networks, computers and applications: for example system and network administrators and those responsible for the administration or content of databases. Familiarity with operations requiring enhanced privileges and prior knowledge of the organisation’s own published privacy policies would also be useful.
This course aims to provide an overview of the security aspects of computer networks from the managerial perspective and focuses on prevention through effective policy and procedures. This is supported by an opportunity for delegates to discuss issues with their peers and the course facilitator.
This course would be of benefit to anyone from organisations connected to Janet who wishes to gain a better understanding of the technical aspects of networking. This course requires no previous experience or knowledge in networks, the course is therefore suitable for staff from a non-technical background.
This course is of benefit to anyone from organisations connected to Janet who wish gain a better understanding of the role, function and principles of network devices.
This course will prepare you for using videoconferencing for both teaching and administrative purposes. It will provide practical advice on what to expect and how to prepare. Delegates tasked with supporting videoconferencing in their organisation will find it a useful introduction to the area and perhaps more importantly an insight into how room design and technical set up can impact on their users experience.
This course will provide participants with a sound introduction to the technical aspects of implementing and running videoconferencing within their organisation.
During this briefing we will be discussing Janet's strategic approach towards several areas of network technology including:
- Network monitoring
- Ethernet OAM
- Automated provisioning
- End-to-end performance
- New transmission capabilities
- Software Defined Networking
