This Scotland NHS-HE Forum took place on Monday 23rd June 2014
Venue: Room G43, Paterson's Land (Moray House), Holyrood Road, Edinburgh, EH8 8AQ
As the N3 contract is coming to an end, Ron MacDonald describes how the re-procurement is the vanguard project for the Scotland Wide Area Network (SWAN) programme, as part of the Public services Network (PSN) development and in response to the McClelland Review of Scottish Public Sector ICT. Since the Forum the OJEU for this has been issued.
Ron also gives an update of the NHS Scotland videoconferencing project. Whilst mostly focused on NHS use the arrangement does use the N3 Janet Gateway to videoconference with academic partners.
Current NHS networks are N3 for England and Scotland (separate contracts), Public Sector Broadband Aggregation (PSBA) network in Wales and the HSC network in Northern Ireland.
