Contractual Matters

It has been necessary to re-procure the Janet Aberdeen network infrastructure as the contracts for it expire in July 2011. Janet staff worked closely with members of the local community with the aim of preserving the existing resilient dark fibre infrastructure where possible, ensuring the maximum levels of reliability for Janet Aberdeen institutions. A contract was awarded to THUS PLC in July and the new infrastructure will be ready for service by May 2011.

Janet Aberdeen Services

Stealthwatch: Janet and Janet Aberdeen have worked together to ensure the continuation of the Stealthwatch monitoring tool, although it is not run by Janet itself and was procured by AbMAN outside the Janet Partner Agreement. When Janet took over direct operation it was clearly understood that part of the overall service would be the continued use of Stealthwatch.
