The following certificates can be obtained through the Jisc Certificate Service's web app, found in the App Centre here: The service provides Extended Validation (EV) server certificates S/MIME end user for digitally signing emails for high, both of which offer users the highest possible assurance. Business/Organisation Validated (OV) and Wildcard (of OV type) certificates are also available. ----- All certificates issued are SHA-256. -----

Organisations eligible for the Janet Certificate Service are: 1. Organisations in receipt of a Primary Connection to Janet network; or 2. Local or Unitary Authorities connected to the National Education Network in England (either directly or via a Regional Broadband Consortium); or to the Scottish Schools Digital Network in Scotland; or to the Lifelong Learning Network in Wales; or to Classroom 2000 in Northern Ireland.

1.  Definitions and Interpretation 1.1 The following definitions will apply to these Terms and Conditions. Application Users: means the individuals appointed by the Organisation to use the Certificate Service, who are authorised to request certificates on behalf of the Organisation. Certificates: means the SSL certificate or certificates signed by QuoVadis and issued by Jisc to the Organisation and its users, including Organisation/Business Validated (OV), Extended Validation (EV) and End User certificates.

Local authorities and Regional Broadband Consortia in England, Wales and Scotland, are able to request SSL Server Certificates* on behalf of schools, including .sch.uk and other domain names, through the online Certificate Service portal. * Includes the QuoVadis Business/Organsiation Validated certificate.
