Janet6 and the Janet London Infrastructure

Janet6 is the project that will deliver the next generation of the Janet infrastructure and the footprint of the Janet6 network ensures that we can provide coverage across the whole UK.

At the heart of the network are a number of key locations where traffic will be routed between the Janet core, regional networks, and Janet’s external links. In this footprint there will be some changes to the core infrastructure in Janet London. Two new Points of Presence will be deployed, one at Docklands in the East and one at Telecity Powergate in the West. Click here to see a diagram of the Janet6 backbone.

These changes mean that the infrastructure that serves Janet London is part of the Janet core infrastructure. These new PoPs will be deployed in the re-procurement and subsequent installation of the managed service for customer circuits in London, which is starting shortly.
