Ultragrid - Ultra High Definition point to point transmission

Ultragrid is a point to point video and audio based transmission system that has been created by the Czech Republic NREN, CESNET. It has been designed to work on commercial grade computers with the addition of video and audio specific PCIe cards. This could be using Linux, OSX, or Windows devices. 

At Networkshop 42 this year, Janet showcased the use of Ultra High Definition Technology on the Janet network. This included three projects. One of these was Ultragrid. This project showcased a UHD stream from a hospital in Brno, Czech Republic. The broadcast was about the use of Ultragrid in medical applications as a teaching tool and the benefits of using UHD technology in teaching.
