Group Manager
This group exists for Janet users looking for sessions, lectures, and events being offered by content providers like museums, archives and organisations like distance learning providers. For schools wishing to find and/or book sessions with content providers, please visit the new content provider web site. The new website is a dedicated resource for all teaching staff that showcases sessions available from Janet registered Content Providers. The functionality of this dynamic website makes it easier for you to search for sessions by subject, key stage or by content provider. You can also set up tailored RSS feeds and find out about upcoming sessions. If you have any questions, please contact Phyllis Callinan on 01235 822263 or email vtas@ja.net

Virtually University

9 July 2012 at 11:26am

VU is a videoconferencing outreach initiative set up in 2004 by Bedford School with the University of Sheffield and the Sutton Trust.

Virtually University coordinates interactive videoconferencing between schools and universities around the country. With some exceptions, the content is targeted at Year 12 and 13. Some sessions relate directly to the A level syllabus whilst others are intended to show the diversity of study available at university, designed to inspire and inform students' choices. Additionally some sessions will discuss practical aspects of applying for university and of student life. All are free to schools.

Details on all their sessions for the new school year will be available soon. To see the sessions that have been on offer during 2011/2012, please visit http://www.virtuallyuniversity.org.uk/index.html
