Reprocurement of the North West regional network
The current Janet network in North West England will be replaced by July 2015. The new network is likely to remain in place for at least eight years and we would welcome your help in ensuring the network meets your current and future needs.
Opportunities specifically for colleges (includng FE, 6th Form and specialist institutions) local goverenment and schools with Janet connections, to meet and discuss their requirements with your Janet representatives have been arranged as follows:

The meetings will include:
- an overview of current plans and timetable for the reprocurement;
- update on BIS-funded second connections and upgraded primary connections;
- opportunities for organisations to discuss their specific requirements;
and a buffet lunch will be provided.
You can join the meeting at the time or location most convenient for you but please let us know which you will attend (reply to tim.robinson@ja.net in the first instance), we will send you more specific joining details and a full agenda closer to the date.
Experience shows that the more accurately you can specify your future demand, the more cost-effective the procurement can be. Cost savings made at this stage will help maintain your services and provide the flexibility to meet your needs as they arise.
Please be assured, however, that Janet fully understands the difficulty of forecasting requirements accurately several years ahead. We will only use the information gathered at the meetings to inform the procurement of your new connection(s) and we expect Janet to continue to provide the flexibility to meet emerging needs.
