    At the request of the Research Councils UK e-Infrastructure group, Janet established a working group from 2013-2016 to support those providing and using e-infrastructure services in achieving an approach that both protects services from threats and is usable by practitioners.     First Call for Papers for 2013 TERENA Networking Conference

    The Programme Committee for the 2013 TERENA Networking Conference (TNC2013) has issued a Call for Papers exploring the theme ‘Innovating Together’. The deadline for submission of papers is 30 November 2012.

    TNC2013 will be held in Maastricht, Netherlands, from 3 to 6 June 2013, hosted by SURFnet, the Dutch research and education networking organisation.

    IP Multicast is a bandwidth conserving technology that can reduce traffic by transporting single streams of information across the network backbone to regional and local distribution points where the data is replicated for simultaneous delivery to multiple users.
