The East Midlands covers the area of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.
There are 9 Universities, 28 FE and Specialist Colleges , 2 Local Authorities and 2 Research Centres connected via janet .
The regional infrastructure is provided by Janet.

First Call for Papers for 2013 TERENA Networking Conference
The Programme Committee for the 2013 TERENA Networking Conference (TNC2013) has issued a Call for Papers exploring the theme ‘Innovating Together’. The deadline for submission of papers is 30 November 2012.
TNC2013 will be held in Maastricht, Netherlands, from 3 to 6 June 2013, hosted by SURFnet, the Dutch research and education networking organisation.

This group is a working technical group comprised of representatives from the RBCs and local authorities in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The group's aim is to support schools in understanding the technical landscape that faces them, ensuring standards across our regions and supporting each region by sharing technical knowledge.
