There is currently a lot of interest in being able to use Shibboleth with Office 365. If your institution is looking into this then the following resources may be useful. If you know of any others, feel free to add them as a comment.
- At Networkshop41 Matthew Slowe from the University of Kent presented on his experience of using Office 365 with Shibboleth instead of ADFS. Matthew has published a video of his presentation and his slides at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R26HrhWomuI
- Microsoft's 'Configure Shibboleth for use with single sign-on' Technet article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj205463.aspx
- Edugate, the Irish federation has published instructions for how an Edugate identity provider that has been implemented using Shibboleth can be configured to authenticate Office 365 users. This guide is based on Microsoft's Technet article but has been adapted for Edugate participants: http://www.edugate.ie/support/support-resources/installation-guides/service-provider-guides/federated-access-office-365
