Another week passes...

Another week passes and I find myself wondering what has happened this week that’s of sufficient interest to warrant a mention in my weekly blog update. Truth be told, not a great deal. Most of the week seems to have been spent updating spreadsheets and project plans, and whilst this is a vital part of managing any project, it’s not particularly interesting. It’s worth mentioning that the majority of the information being used to update said spreadsheets and project plans has been provided by RNOs and RNEP host Universities. The cooperation of this group of people and their general willingness to help is staggering at times. Despite a prolonged campaign of endless nagging and irritating by me, the accurate and precise answers to my steady stream of questions comes flowing through at a rate I can barely keep up with. This week has also seen good progress made with the main suppliers involved in the rollout of the new network – SSET and Ciena. Without going into the details of every single issue, the general feeling amongst the respective project management teams is that constructive progress is being made across the project and that solid long-term partnerships are being formed. That’s probably it for now, hopefully there’ll be something more interesting to report next week!
