Update on NCA Action on GameOver Zeus and Cryptolocker

Friday, June 13, 2014 - 16:07

The period of protection offered by the joint action between the NCA and FBI ends at 00:00BST on Tuesday 17 June. We recommend that you take full advantage of the remaining time and clean up any infected hosts.

If you have used the lists of domains provided by Janet CSIRT, they will continue to provide some temporary protection. Please be aware, however, that should the botnet return to the control of the operator, it is possible that domains may change at any time if the malware author updates the code; the lists will then provide little protection. We therefore advise that you clean up any infected systems prior to Tuesday's deadline.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update you should anything change, but we advise that you take this opportunity to protect your systems.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail at irt@csirt.ja.net or by telephone on 0300 999 2340.
